You may have heard of holistic drug rehab. It is one of the options available through treatment at Crestview Recovery. What does “holistic” really mean? Can it help you to achieve sobriety and long-term health? That depends on many factors. These types of therapies are growing more important than ever. That’s why we’ve included many of them. For some people, they can be very important in comparison to evidence-based treatments.
What Are Holistic Drug Rehab Programs and Therapies?
Holistic drug rehab is designed to provide you with a whole body way of healing. We’ll focus on your physical needs during your care, such as ensuring your body is healthy. We’ll then focus on your unique needs for mental health treatment. Holistic therapy focuses on the emotional component of healing. It may include one or more of the options we offer such as:
- Acupuncture therapy
- Massage therapy
- Mindfulness meditation therapy
- Yoga
- Nutrition therapy
- Exercise therapy
- Recreational therapy
Each program is a bit different in what it tackles and focuses on. Yet, each one can play a big role in helping you to heal. You may find that these types of therapy are a bit more enjoyable than other forms, too.
What Are the Benefits of Them?
As with all treatment programs, you’ll get out of them what you put into them. Many people will see a number of benefits from holistic drug therapy. This may include these.
Feel More Empowered: When you work through these programs, you may feel more empowered and more likely to be yourself. Sometimes, individuals will also find that they feel more enabled to do things they like to do that they have not done in some time.
Build Confidence: When you are working on fitness or yoga, each session is an opportunity for you to accomplish something new. That can help you to build self-esteem and confidence along the way. That’s important to long-term recovery.
Heal Your Body: Nutrition and exercise therapy can help to improve more than just your mental wellbeing. They can also help your body to speed up the healing process. Since drug use can leave you struggling with numerous health complications, these programs can help you to recoup and rebuild.
Reducing Stress: Another of the key advantages of holistic drug rehab is that they work to reduce your stress. You may find them more engaging, such as art and music therapy. You may be able to stop thinking about addiction for a few minutes as you use these programs.
They May Reduce Relapse Risk: Some people use meditation and mindfulness as a way to focus on their recovery and not the numerous negative aspects of life. This may help you avoid the onset of relapse later on in life.
